Letterboxd for Games: Backloggd and Its Best Alternatives

Backloggd is the usual Letterboxd for games, but it still has no app. We compare it with GameTrack, Omniphile, Logg and Stash on diaries, reviews and phones.

The short answer

  • Backloggd is the closest thing to Letterboxd for games: a free site where each playthrough gets its own log, rating, review and journal, with lists and a feed of the people you follow. As of October 2026 it has no app, no Steam import and no data export.
  • GameTrack is the best Letterboxd-style app for games on a phone. It calls itself “like Letterboxd, but for games,” runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android, and fills a diary from your linked game accounts on Apple devices.
  • Omniphile is our pick if you want games and films in one diary on iPhone, iPad or Mac: it imports your Letterboxd history, logs each game by playthrough and rates in half or quarter stars.
  • Logg, released in July 2026 for iPhone and Android, is the newest Letterboxd-style app: a game diary with star ratings, reviews, ranked lists and friends.
  • Backloggd has no export, so leaving it means rebuilding your library, which goes fastest in an app that syncs your Steam, PlayStation and Xbox libraries.

Letterboxd itself covers only films, but Backloggd is the closest thing to a Letterboxd for games: a free diary of playthroughs with half-star ratings, reviews, lists and a friends feed. It still has no app, though. On a phone, GameTrack is the best Letterboxd-style alternative, and Omniphile keeps games and films in one diary on iPhone, iPad and Mac.

Backloggd is the name that comes up for “Letterboxd for video games,” but its most-wanted features are still requests. As of October 31, 2026, its public roadmap lists an Android app with about 20,000 votes and an iOS app with about 15,000, alongside a Steam import (about 20,000) and data export (about 7,400), none of them shipped.1 Its FAQ says there is no mobile app “at this time.”2 Meanwhile, apps built for phones have moved in: Logg was released in July 2026, and GameTrack 7.0 reached the App Store on October 30, 2026, describing itself as “like Letterboxd, but for games.”3

We make Omniphile, one of the apps below, so weigh our view of it accordingly. Every detail about the other apps comes from their App Store and Google Play listings, official sites and help pages, checked on October 31, 2026. Letterboxd’s own listing describes logging films “with date, rating, review and tags,” with no mention of games.4

What makes an app a Letterboxd for games?

Letterboxd is more than a list of films you have seen. What people miss when they look for the same thing for games:

  • A diary. Each play logged with its dates, so finishing a game a second time is a new entry, not an edit.
  • Ratings fine enough to mean something. Half stars at least, and ideally a rating per playthrough.
  • Reviews and lists, ranked or not, that other people can read.
  • Friends and a feed of what the people you follow are playing.
  • A good phone app, because you log a game when you finish it, usually away from a desk.
  • A way in and out. Store syncing or imports to get started, and an export so your history isn’t stuck in one place.

Two other web trackers are worth knowing, though neither has an app on the stores. Backloggery says there is “no Android or iOS app currently and no plans to make one,” has no imports, and has you enter each game yourself.18 Grouvee has had an iOS app in beta since July 2026, but not on the App Store.19

How to move your game library

Backloggd is the hard case, because there is nothing to export. Your options:

  1. Rebuild from your store libraries

  2. Use a file if you have one

  3. Copy your reviews before you go

  4. Bring your films along

If your backlog matters more to you than reviews, our ranking of the best game backlog apps compares these apps on store syncing, time-to-beat estimates and play logging, and adds HowLongToBeat and Playnite.

Common questions

Is there a Letterboxd for games?
Yes. Backloggd is the best known: a free website with a log for every playthrough, half-star ratings, reviews, lists and a friends feed. GameTrack, Omniphile, Logg and Stash offer similar logging in iPhone apps, and all of them except Omniphile also run on Android.
Does Backloggd have a mobile app?
No. As of October 31, 2026, Backloggd’s FAQ says there is no mobile app, though its website is built for phone screens. Its public roadmap lists an Android app and an iOS app as open requests, with about 20,000 and 15,000 votes.
What is the Letterboxd for games on Android?
GameTrack, Logg and Stash all have Android apps with ratings, reviews, lists and friends. GameTrack also links your game accounts, though its diary and Nintendo support are on Apple devices only for now. On any phone, Backloggd works in the browser.
Can I export my Backloggd data?
Not yet. As of October 31, 2026, data export is an open request on Backloggd’s public roadmap, with about 7,400 votes, so moving to another app means adding your games again, ideally by syncing your store libraries.
Does Letterboxd track video games?
No. Letterboxd is a social network for film, and its App Store listing describes logging films, not games. To keep films and games in one diary on iPhone, iPad or Mac, Omniphile imports your Letterboxd history and tracks games beside it.
