Best Media Tracker Apps in 2026: Movies, TV, Books, Games
The best media tracker apps in 2026 for movies, TV, books, audiobooks and games, compared on depth, imports, sync and price, with picks for Android and the web.
- Movies
- TV shows
- Books
- Audiobooks
- Games
The short answer
- Omniphile is the best media tracker for iPhone and iPad in 2026 if you want depth: episode-level TV progress, readthroughs for books and audiobooks, playthroughs for games, and statistics across all five kinds.
- Sequel is the best media wishlist on Apple devices, from iPhone to Mac and Apple Vision Pro, with free iCloud sync and Trakt sync in its paid Sequel+.
- Sofa organizes the widest range, from shows and books to podcasts, music and trips, but its progress tracking needs the paid Super Sofa.
- Logged is the free pick, and the best all-in-one tracker we found that runs on Android as well as iPhone. Ryot is free, open source and self-hosted, for people who run their own server.
The best media tracker app for iPhone and iPad is Omniphile, which follows movies, TV shows, books, audiobooks and games in one library, with progress and statistics for each. On Apple devices, Sequel is the best wishlist and Sofa the broadest organizer. Logged is the free pick and the one for Android, and Ryot is the self-hosted choice.
An all-in-one tracker replaces three or four apps: one for shows, one for films, one for books and one for games. The catch is that many of them only keep lists, so we judged each app on how well it tracks each kind, not on how many kinds it names. We make Omniphile, so weigh our first pick accordingly. Every detail about the other apps comes from their App Store and Google Play listings, official sites and documentation, checked on November 1, 2026.
The best media tracker apps compared
The short version, by what you need:
| If you want | Pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Depth for every kind on iPhone and iPad | Omniphile | Episodes, readthroughs, playthroughs and statistics across all of them |
| A wishlist on every Apple device | Sequel | Release reminders, free iCloud sync, apps for Mac and Vision Pro |
| Podcasts, music and plans in the same app | Sofa | Lists for almost anything, a podcast player and a planner |
| A free tracker, or one on Android | Logged | Free with ads, on iPhone and Android, with friends and reviews |
| Your own server | Ryot | Free and open source, in the browser, with automatic logging from Plex and Jellyfin |
What each one runs on, costs and tracks, as of November 2026:
| App | Runs on | Price (US) | Tracks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Omniphile | iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch | Free; optional Premium | Movies, TV, books, audiobooks, games |
| Sequel | iPhone, iPad, Mac, Vision Pro | Free; Sequel+ from $2.99 | Movies, TV, books, audiobooks, games |
| Sofa | iPhone, iPad, Mac, Vision Pro | Free; Super Sofa $5.99 a month | Movies, TV, books, games, music, podcasts, apps |
| Logged | iPhone, Android | Free, with ads | Movies, TV, books, albums, games |
| Ryot | Web, self-hosted | Free, open source; optional Pro | Movies, TV, books, audiobooks, games, anime, podcasts, music |
And how far each goes beyond a list:
| App | Progress | Stats | Sync |
|---|---|---|---|
| Omniphile | Episodes, readthroughs, playthroughs, timers | Every kind | Trakt; iCloud with Premium |
| Sequel | Episodes; Playing and Reading | Not listed | iCloud; Trakt with Sequel+ |
| Sofa | Episodes, checkpoints, timers, with Super Sofa | Yes | iCloud |
| Logged | Four statuses; TV by season | Not listed | Your account |
| Ryot | Seen history; logs from Plex, Jellyfin | Yes | Your server |
How we chose these media trackers
We judged every app on five things:
- Breadth. Movies, TV and books at least, and ideally games and audiobooks, in one library and one search.
- Depth per kind. Whether it tracks a show by episode, a book by page or percentage and a game by playthrough, or only marks things as wanted and done.
- Getting your library in. Imports from the apps people leave, such as TV Time, Letterboxd, Goodreads and Trakt, and sync that keeps working afterwards.
- Statistics. Whether it shows what you watched, read and played across kinds, not just a count.
- Platforms and price, including what sits behind each paywall.
Three names you may expect aren’t ranked. QueueKeeper, which tracked movies, shows, books and games, is no longer on the App Store: we couldn’t find it in the US, UK or Canadian stores on November 1, 2026. Poplog is a free social diary for movies, series, books, podcasts, music and games on iPhone and Android, but it has a single rating on the US App Store, and its listing mentions no imports or statistics.1 And Shelf builds a profile of your taste automatically from services you connect, such as Spotify, Netflix, Letterboxd and Goodreads,2 which suits a record without logging, but it is a different idea from a tracker you keep yourself.
The best media tracker apps, ranked
Best overall on iPhone and iPad
1. Omniphile
- Platforms
- iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch
- Price
- Free; optional Premium subscription
- Tracks
- Movies
- TV shows
- Books
- Audiobooks
- Games
Omniphile is our app. It keeps movies, TV shows, books, audiobooks and games in one library and tracks each kind the way a dedicated app would. Shows are followed episode by episode across seasons, and you can rate each episode, season and show. Books and audiobooks are tracked by readthrough, by page, percentage or chapter, or for audiobooks by the position you reached. Games are tracked by playthrough, with a session timer. Each kind has statuses that fit it, so a paused show and an abandoned one are different, and you can switch off any kind you don’t use.
Statistics cover everything at once: completions, time spent, ratings, top genres and people, activity heatmaps and streaks. Version 4.2 added goals from daily to yearly for reading, gaming and watching, and version 4.3 added challenges such as “read 10 horror books and complete 5 horror video games.”3 Ratings work on a 5-star or 10-star scale, with half- and quarter-star precision.
Moving in is the strong suit. Omniphile imports movies and shows from TV Time, IMDb, Trakt, Letterboxd, Sofa Time, Refract, Bingers, SuiteTV and Serializd; books from Goodreads, StoryGraph, ReadTracker or a CSV file; games from HowLongToBeat, GameTrack, Minimap and Nook; and whole libraries from Sequel and Sofa, everything but their audiobooks. Two-way Trakt sync for movies and shows is free. The optional Premium subscription adds iCloud sync, the Apple Watch app, release and streaming alerts, rewatches and replays counted in your stats, and syncing for Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Epic and GOG libraries.4
Where it falls short: it has no Android or web version, and its iCloud sync is part of Premium, while Sequel and Sofa sync through iCloud for free. As of November 1, 2026, it is rated 4.8 from 292 ratings on the US App Store.
Best for: iPhone, iPad and Mac users who want every film, episode, book, audiobook and game in one library, tracked properly.
Strengths
- Episode-level progress, readthroughs and playthroughs with timers
- Statistics, goals and challenges across every kind
- Imports from TV Time, Letterboxd, Goodreads, HowLongToBeat, Sequel and Sofa
- Free two-way Trakt sync for movies and shows
Drawbacks
- No Android or web version
- iCloud sync, the Watch app and rewatches need Premium

Best media wishlist on Apple devices
2. Sequel
- Platforms
- iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Vision Pro
- Price
- Free; Sequel+ subscription or $99.99 lifetime
- Tracks
- Movies
- TV shows
- Books
- Audiobooks
- Games
Sequel calls itself a media wishlist, and that is its strength: save the show a friend raved about, a new book from an author you like or an upcoming game, and let it remind you when it comes out. You can mark items as Playing or Reading, check off episodes, and follow your series in a Watch Next queue. It covers movies, series, books, audiobooks and games, and its free tier includes unlimited items, ratings, up to five collections and iCloud sync.5
Sequel+ adds Trakt sync for movies and series, where to watch, release reminders for wishlist items, a Magic Lookup that uses AI to save media from the web, unlimited collections, Markdown notes and how long games take to beat. Its App Store listing shows Sequel+ subscriptions from $2.99 and a lifetime purchase at $99.99. Recent updates improved imports from TV Time’s data export, Simkl, IMDb, Goodreads and StoryGraph, and version 2.9.5 arrived on October 27, 2026.5
Its listing doesn’t describe statistics, page-by-page reading progress or play sessions, which is the gap between a wishlist and a tracker. It is rated 4.8 from about 1,300 ratings on the US App Store. We compare the two apps feature by feature in Omniphile vs Sequel.
Best for: Apple users who want one place for everything they mean to watch, read and play, with reminders when it comes out.
Strengths
- Unlimited items, ratings and iCloud sync for free
- Release reminders, countdown widgets and a Watch Next queue
- Runs on Mac and Apple Vision Pro too
Drawbacks
- No statistics, reading progress or play sessions in its listing
- Trakt sync and release reminders need Sequel+
Best for organizing more than media
3. Sofa
- Platforms
- iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Vision Pro
- Price
- Free; Super Sofa $5.99 a month, $49.99 a year or $249.99 once
- Tracks
- Movies
- TV shows
- Books
- Games
Sofa describes itself as a downtime organizer, and it covers more ground than any other app here: lists and groups for movies, TV, books, games, music, podcasts, apps and categories you define, plus a podcast player and a planner for trips, tasks and your TV schedule. Shows can be tracked episode by episode, progress rings sit on covers, sessions can be timed or logged, and a Logbook keeps everything you finish, with a Stats dashboard of activity, genres and year-over-year comparisons.6
The catch is the split between free and paid. Unlimited lists, the podcast player, the planner, the Logbook and iCloud sync are free, but progress tracking itself, for TV episodes, book checkpoints and game progress, is part of Super Sofa, along with smart lists, reminders and Logbook stats. Super Sofa costs $5.99 a month, $49.99 a year or $249.99 once. Recent updates improved its imports from TV Time’s official data export, Letterboxd and Trakt.6
It is an Apple Editors’ Choice, rated 4.7 from about 3,100 ratings on the US App Store, with version 5.4.4 out on October 28, 2026. For a closer look at how it differs from a dedicated tracker, see Omniphile vs Sofa.
Best for: People who want films, books and games in the same app as their podcasts, music and plans.
Strengths
- Lists for movies, TV, books, games, music, podcasts, apps and your own categories
- A built-in podcast player and a planner
- Free iCloud sync, a Logbook and imports from TV Time, Letterboxd and Trakt
Drawbacks
- Progress tracking, including episodes, needs Super Sofa
- No Android or web version
Best free pick, and on Android
4. Logged
- Platforms
- iPhone, Android
- Price
- Free, with ads; Logged Supporter $2.99 a month on iPhone
- Tracks
- Movies
- TV shows
- Books
- Games
Logged is the simplest app here, and the only one on this list with apps for both Android and iPhone. It tracks movies, TV, books, albums and games in one library, rated on one 1-to-5-star scale, so a four-star album sits next to a four-star film. Every item is in one of four states: Wishlist, In Progress, Logged or DNF. TV is tracked by season rather than episode. You can write reviews, follow friends and browse a Discover feed of what the community is watching, reading and playing.7
Everything is free, with ads. On iPhone, a $2.99-a-month Logged Supporter subscription removes them; on Android, its listing says an optional Ko-fi tip does.8 It is new: version 1.14.0 arrived on October 30, 2026, it has 13 ratings on the US App Store, and its Android app has passed 500 downloads. Its listings mention no imports or statistics, so expect to add your history by hand.
Best for: Android users, and anyone who wants a simple, social all-in-one log without a subscription.
Strengths
- Every feature free, on iPhone and Android
- Movies, TV, books, albums and games on one 1-to-5-star scale
- Reviews, friends and a Discover feed
Drawbacks
- TV is tracked by season, not episode
- New, with no imports or statistics in its listings
Best self-hosted, on the web
5. Ryot
- Platforms
- Web, on your own server
- Price
- Free and open source; optional paid Pro
- Tracks
- Movies
- TV shows
- Books
- Audiobooks
- Games
Ryot, short for “Roll Your Own Tracker”, is for people who run their own server. It installs with Docker and runs as a web app you can add to a phone’s home screen. It tracks movies, shows, anime, manga, books, audiobooks, podcasts, music and video games, plus workouts and body measurements, and it can log what you watch automatically from Plex, Jellyfin, Kodi or Emby.9 It imports from Goodreads, StoryGraph, Trakt, IMDb, MyAnimeList, Audiobookshelf and other services.10
The free version includes marking media as seen, with repeat views, activity and statistics graphs, release notifications and reviews. A paid Pro version adds watchlists, favorites and custom collections, recommendations and sharing; its features page doesn’t list a price.11 To track movies and shows, you need your own API key from TMDB or TVDB, and games need one from IGDB.10 Version 10.5.0 came out on August 22, 2026, and the project has about 3,650 stars on GitHub.
Best for: People who run their own server and want every kind of media, and their workouts, in one private tracker.
Strengths
- Free and open source under the GPL-3.0 license
- Tracks anime, manga, podcasts and music as well
- Imports from Goodreads, StoryGraph, Trakt, IMDb and more, and logs plays from Plex, Jellyfin, Kodi and Emby
Drawbacks
- You install and maintain it yourself, with Docker
- Movies, shows and games need your own API keys
- Watchlists and custom collections are Pro features
Which media tracker should you pick?
- You want every kind tracked properly on iPhone, iPad or Mac: Omniphile.
- You mostly want a wishlist and reminders, on a Mac or Vision Pro too: Sequel.
- You want podcasts, music and plans in the same app as your shows: Sofa.
- You are on Android, or want everything free: Logged.
- You run a home server and want your data on it: Ryot.
- You only track one kind: a dedicated app goes further. See our picks for the best TV show tracker apps, the best book tracking apps and the best game backlog apps.
The bottom line
On iPhone and iPad, the choice is between depth and a lighter touch. Omniphile tracks every episode, readthrough and playthrough and turns them into statistics across all five kinds; Sequel and Sofa keep lighter lists that sync through iCloud for free, with more of their tracking behind a subscription. Omniphile costs nothing to download and has an optional Premium subscription, and it imports a Sequel or Sofa library if you want to compare. Off Apple devices, Logged covers Android for free and Ryot runs anywhere you host it. Our comparisons page covers the other trackers people move from.

Common questions
- What is the best media tracker app?
- For iPhone and iPad, Omniphile, which tracks movies, TV shows, books, audiobooks and games with episode-level progress, readthroughs, playthroughs and statistics across all of them. Sequel and Sofa are strong alternatives on Apple devices, Logged covers Android, and Ryot is a self-hosted web option.
- Is there an app to track books and movies together?
- Yes. Omniphile, Sequel, Sofa, Logged and Ryot all keep books and movies in one library. Omniphile and Sequel also cover TV shows, audiobooks and games, and Logged adds music albums.
- Is there an app like Letterboxd for books and games?
- An all-in-one tracker covers both. Omniphile, Sequel and Logged log films, books and games with ratings, and Omniphile and Logged add reviews. If you only need one kind, a dedicated app such as StoryGraph for books or Backloggd for games goes further.
- What is the best media tracker app for Android?
- Logged, the best all-in-one tracker we found on Android, also runs on iPhone: it is free with ads and covers movies, TV, books, albums and games. Ryot, which you host yourself, runs in any phone’s browser.
- Is there a free media tracker app?
- Logged is free, with ads, and Ryot is free and open source if you host it. Omniphile, Sequel and Sofa are free to download, with optional subscriptions for more features.
- Can I move my library from Sequel or Sofa to Omniphile?
- Yes. Omniphile imports a Sequel or Sofa export with your movies, shows, books and games, including watched episodes, ratings, notes and lists. Audiobooks are the one kind the import does not bring across.
